Smyrna Elementary School Receives Tennessee STEM School Designation 2022

Smyrna, TN – Smyrna Elementary School was one of 27 schools awarded the Tennessee STEM School Designation for 2022. This honor was developed with the guidance of the Tennessee Department of Education and the STEM Leadership Council to identify and recognize schools in their commitment to teaching STEM and/or STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and integrating strategies that ultimately prepare students for post-secondary college and career success in the 21st century.

If you have a child entering kindergarten in August, 2022, there is some important information for you. In addition to registration information, there are some great ideas that you can do at home to help your child transition to kindergarten.


Smyrna, TN - Smyrna Elementary School has been awarded a grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority, in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc., a TVA retiree organization, to develop science, technology, engineering, and math education projects to help spark student interest in future careers in STEM-related fields.

SES Gives Back to the Community

Smyrna Elementary School is an amazing GIVING SCHOOL!!! Our students, parents, teachers, staff, and community businesses/organizations have partnered together in several service projects. Here are the projects that our community has been able to give back this school year (2021-2022).

Shelly Mangrum, 1st grade teacher, was selected for SES' "Teacher of the Year".
Pat Arambula, Educational Assistant, was selected for SES' "Staff Member of the Year".

Kids Health Challenge

Coach Malek and Coach Veron are leading this great fundraiser for American Heart Association. Our goal is to raise $1000.
