hello parents and community members I am Vanessa Ritter the principal here at Smyrna Elementary School we are excited to have joined us to celebrate our accomplishments and help guide us in waist grow with survey and put at the end of this presentation the purpose of this meeting is to give all stakeholders an opportunity to review a Title 1 funds have been spent during the 2021 2022 school year Additionally you will assist in planning how federal funds will be used for the 2020 to 2023 school year to guarantee success for all you will also be able to provide input for next year school Improvement plan title one was created to ensure economically disadvantaged children receive a fair and Equitable and high-quality education by helping to close a cheap make apps not be used as a substitute the local and state funding instead Title 1 funds are additional money given to the title 1 schools Smyrna Elementary School we strive to provide opportunities that enrich and grow our students minds and curio let's bring our students took the Tennessee comprehensive Assessment program also known as tcapp we received a level 5 status for growth in both reading and math the data revealed that students at Smyrna Elementary School received an overall success rate of 26.3% this means that 26.3% of our students were either I have reached Mastery of grade-level standards as compared to the 34.7% of students in the Rutherford County School District in January of 2022 students in grades kindergarten grade 5 took the i-Ready math benchmark assessment at this time 24% of our students were at or above grade level according to this assessment students in grades two through five also take easycbm proficient reading benchmark three times a year in January the white and green sections of each grade level indicated how many students at SES were at or above the 25th percentile on this assessment in the 2021 to 2022 school year funds were allocated in the following ways Staffing Personnel instructional materials and programs development Trenton training and equipment Title 1 funds also supported staff development for our teachers these opportunities included collaboration days the tsin stem conference the motto school conference in the wrong Clark Academy instructional materials and programs purchase the title 1 funds include PebbleGo reading a to z frax math do the math Reflex Math the staff at Smyrna Elementary School really enjoys parent engagement opportunities some of the activities this year have included virtual family literacy nights not your ordinary stem r s e s back-to-school bash and annual Title One meeting new to SES parent meetings and our kindergarten transition tears and cheers Perinton put is vital to our at Smyrna Elementary School parents agree that our staff makes appropriate advert to communicate with parents and finds our school to be a safe welcoming Place many parents do they understand what is expected of their child a condemned and feel the school gives them information about their child's progress some of the ways we would like to continue to grow is making parent engagement more inclusive parents would like to receive frequent communication with their child's teacher I would also like to see more correspondence in their native language many parents would like additional information about academic standards and ways they can help their child at home teachers at Smyrna Elementary School also able to provide feedback on Yusuf funding and needs for the next school year staff and Personnel were among their top best use of funds which include instructional coaches interventionist and an educational assistant use the funds to support math instruction was also a Top Choice looking forward to next year teachers would like to continue to use funds for support staff as well as to purchase an online learning platform for reading staff development is also continued request for the use of funds current articles for Smyrna Elementary School include the following and are listed in our school Improvement plan improving academic achievement in both yellow to ensure all students are prepared for the next grade level standards hiring and retaining highly effective teachers and implementing strategies to ensure all students receive a way a rounded education and can learn in a safe healthy environment some of the things we are doing it Smyrna Elementary School to address the priority goals are as follows to support the math framework small group instruction is used Daily Number talks and incorporating math manipulatives into daily instruction to support the ELA framework instructional supports for diverse differentiated materials scaffolded tailored small group work content-based units of study promoting knowledge and vocabulary cross-curricular planning an instruction to support students with real life experiences to support a positive School culture may continue with the implementation of houses and how celebrations rtib school-wide positive behavior supports we strive to add opportunities for more after-school clubs and we create student real life experiences through
